“Drawing is my passion and the basis of all my work. I sketch from the model each week and am never without a pen and paper. Most of my work is figurative in oil, acrylic, ink and charcoal. There are also sculptures in bronze, cement, fibreglass and ceramic, lithographs and etchings.
Over the years, travels around the world have resulted in paintings, drawings and prints from Crete, based on the Minoan legends and works based on the culture and flora of Bali and Thailand, and other places. I have spent many hours visiting the great collections in New York, Boston, London, Rome, Paris, Nice and Munich.
Diana has coordinated the sketch club at the Workshop Art Centre, Willoughby for many years and conducts workshops from time to time.”
TRAINING
After studying with Prof. Bissietta at the A.D.R. (the old Dattilo Rubbo Art School) in the late 50′s Diana attended a number of workshops and exhibited locally while raising a family.
Early 80′s – studied sculpture at the Sculpture Centre.
1987 – completed a Bachelor Degree in Visual Art at the City Art Institute (now C.O.F.A.) majoring in painting.
EXHIBITIONS
Diana is represented in Council and corporate collections and in private collections in Australia and around the world.
She has held 14 Solo exhibitions, 2×2 person exhibitions,2 x 4 person exhibitions and a vast number of group shows.
AWARDS
Regional Exhibitions: the Fairfield Art Prize; Works on Paper at the Fisher’s Ghost, Campbelltown.,and the Fairfield Drawing Prize.
2003 – joint viewer’s choice -The Perfect Diary, a publication of Australian art and writing. (commemorating 7 years as featured artist).
2004 – finalist – Art on the Rocks.
2008 – Finalist Portia Geach Art Award
2009 – Finalist Mosman Art Prize
