Born in Springfield, Ohio Pamela was educated in the United States developing her inate talent for Art. She moved to Australia in the late ’70′s and has recently devoted much of her life to Portrait painting.
Her work is focused on life drawing and portraits in a wide range of mediums including oils, pastels and charcoal. The theme of these works range from realism through impressionism.
Since 1999, Pamela has won prizes for a variety of works. And more recently increasing recognition for her works in drawing and portraiture.
1999 to 2002 Awards included:
The Achievement Award (1999) from The Royal Art Society of New South Wales;
The James R. Jackson Award From The Royal Art Society of New South Wales (2000);
First Prize for the Robert Le Gay Brereton Drawing Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales (2001);
Very Highly Commended for a Pastel in the Lane Cove Municipal Art Award (2002);
Very Highly Commended For The Le Gay Brereton Drawing Prize (2002).
2004 Awards included:
Very Highly Commended Graphic award at Drummoyne Art Society Members Exhibition;
Highly Commended for the Modern section at Drummoyne Art Society Members Exhibition.
2005 Awards included:
Commended award at the Lane Cove Art Society Members Exhibition for The Frohlic Prize;
selected for the Shirley Hannon National Portrait Award;
First Prize for Pastels and Drawing at the Lane Cove Art Society 45th Art Exhibition;
Very Highly Commended Graphic Award at the Drummoyne Art Society.
2006 Awards include:
Highly Commended at the Tumut Art Society’s 49th Annual Exhibition for portraiture;
Commended at the Tumut Art Society’s 49th Annual Exhibition oil section;
Very Highly Commended at the Drummoyne Art Societ Annual Art Awards Graphic Section, April 2006.
Highly Commended at the Hunter’s Hill Art & Craft exhibition May 2006.
May 2006 Frolich Prize& Highly Commended at Lane Cove Art Society and selected for the Shirley Hannon National Portrait Award.
Pamela became an Exhibiting Member of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales in 2001, and was selected as an Associate Member of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales in April of 2005 .She is an exhibiting member of the Portrait Artists of Australia. Her work was shown in the Australian Artist Magazine in 2005. Pamela established and is currently operating a Sketch Club in Lane Cove.
