PROFILE
David K Rees was born Liverpool 1947. He possess U.K. and Australian Passports. From 1997 David has worked as a professional Fine Artist with exhibitions in U.A.E., Virgin Islands, U.K., New Zealand, and Australia.
David is a naturally gifted artist with inherent drawing skills that emerged during childhood. He originally worked as a publicity artist, producing artist’s impressions for an international building and construction company. In this capacity David learnt from high profile professionals, developed skills in large format photography, graphic design and printing, exhibition design, writing and production of 16mm films (Worldwide Films, London) and management.
David Rees became National Advertising Manager for the U.K.’s largest car distributor and was subsequently invited to join their London based Advertising Agency to handle the account. Seeing the world led to him joining a retail agency in Adelaide. After the Gulf War, an opportunity existed to handle world brand-leaders in the rapidly developing, multi-cultural environment of the Middle East. It was while working in this restrictive part of the world that the inner artist started to stir. David developed the ‘Reflected Dimension’ concept , leading to his first solo exhibition Dubai, 1998. In 2006 David settled in Australia, concentrating Marine Subjects and Portraiture.
