PROFILE

Barbara McManus spent eight years with The Victorian Artists Society Council and teaching staff, and was their Artist of the Year.  She was made A Fellow in the same year.

In 1986 Barbara won the AME Bale Traveling Scholarship. This award presented Barbara with the opportunity to visit the World’s most famous art museums, absorb European culture, participate in workshops in Wales and Cornwall, and sketch her way through the British Isles, Russia, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco; parts of Scandinavia, and Central Europe.  During this time her work was included in the International Pastel Exhibition in Lille, France in 1987.

Barbara gives workshops, demonstrations, and adjudicates art shows around Australia.

COLLECTIONS

Barbara’s work is in private and corporate collections in the USA, UK, Switzerland, and Australia.  It is represented in Juliet Peer’s book “More Than Just Gum Trees” as well as Max Germaine’s “Encyclopedia: Artists and Galleries Australia” and “Who’s Who in Australia sand the Far East”.
