“Creativity has always been a driving force in my life. In my youth I won a number of art prizes, including the School Prize for Art which was a great encouragement. For the last 30 years I have worked in the design industry in Africa and Australia, and won a number of industry awards for graphic design in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and later in Melbourne.
I started painting portraits in 2005 inspired by rich memories of growing up in Africa. The memories of vibrant colour and unique land formations, and the joy of the African people were my source. I work with landscapes and abstract compositions as well as figurative compositions and portraits.
I accept commissions in Australia and overseas. A percentage of sales proceeds of my African ‘pikinins’ goes to Plan International, a small way to give something to those African children so desperately in need.
