Scherf, Pamela

“I have loved drawing since a child, and find the differences in people intriguing yet beautiful.  William Dobell’s work, especially “The Cypriot”, was pivotal in my journey to produce portraits in oil.”

“After completing a Diploma in Fine Art I went overseas to study the great masters of portraiture such as Rembrandt, Sargent and Whistler as well as studying with a modern day master Daniel Greene in New York. As these greats have done, I much prefer to work from life to produce optimum results, capturing the lively personality and subtle nuances that no camera can record. In this busy age, and with experience, I am able to successfully combine sittings with sketches and photos to fit in with the sitter’s schedule.”

Portrait may be sketches or full length paintings – price  range from $200 to $4,000.  The charge varies for multiple sitters  and detailed backgrounds.

  1. Dear, Pamela

This is Simi here and I am just emailing to inquire about getting a portrait done. I will need the portrait done before the 10th of May. So I was wondering whether it was possible to complete within this time-frame.

This will be a portrait of my dad who had passed away in 2012. In May my sister is getting married and we need something very special so we can create beautiful memories and that he is seen/captured in the videos and photos.

I would also like to discuss how much it would cost and the sizes or shape to just hang on the wall. you can message me on my number if you like – 0402507841 🙂

    Kind, Regards

  3. Hi Pamela,

I’m inquiring about getting a oil painting portrait done for a friend. I would love to hear from you about cost and and other details.

    • Dear Kristina, Thank you for your enquiry. Please look at the “How to Commission a Portrait” page on the website.
This page outlines the process for you. Then if you look at the artists’ pages on the website you can contact one of the artists you like, to see if they will accept the commission.
      Kind regards, janis
